Months pass by so quickly and it’s hard to believe we’re saying goodbye to January already. My friend pointed out that it’s only 11 months until Christmas… thanks for that! It’s been a slow start to the year. I’ve been battling a recurring cold since the week before Christmas, and as someone who is ordinarily very healthy, I don’t make a particularly good patient. I’m positive that it’s shifting now though and I’m ready to take the year on, albeit a bit delayed!
Outside of work, my days have been spent, mostly keeping warm and playing games with Miss D. I’ve also been knitting a lovely shawl for a friend’s birthday, which she was most happy with, and whilst I still have a dress half made for Miss D, I’ve not really made much more progress on it.
I’m excited about my crafting plans for the coming months though. I feel like I’m finding my aesthetic and have more vision around what I want to sew and knit for me and the little lady. There may even be a few ‘matching mini me’ makes. Something for her to cringe about in her teenage years.
I’m also trying this year to have more experiences with little Miss. Things are all very nice, but memories are more important. January’s experience was a lovely trip to the local Sealife centre with her God-parents. Given it was less than £20 for an annual pass and I live fairly close to the Sealife centre, I opted to get one. Even if it just means that we get to go back to say hello to the penguins once a month then it will have been worthwhile.
So there you have it, January in a nutshell. What did you get up to in the first month of the new decade?
